Beijing Energy Conference 2018
Energy Demand in Emerging and Developing Economies: Measurement, Policy Interventions and Evaluation
13-14 September 2018, Beijing, China
After the successful Munster Energy Conference 2016, the School of Economics at Renmin University of China (RUC), University of Munster, Germany (WWM) and Kyushu University, Japan (KU), together with the China Economic Review (CER), invite participation and submission in Beijing Energy Conference 2018. The theme of this conference is “Energy Demand in Emerging and Developing Economies”. The conference, to be held on September 13-14, 2018 on the main campus of Renmin University of China, brings together researchers on energy demand in emerging and developing economies in order to present their recent researches on applied microeconomics, experimental and empirical economics. We welcome submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:
New measurements and indicators of disaggregated level energy consumption
Experiments on energy/resource consumption behavior
Energy demand and environmental constraints
Evaluation of demand interventions
Policy insights of demand-side management
Recent advances in the economic analysis of energy demand

Fee:
There is NO registration fee for attending the conference. The host will cover the meals. Participants need only to cover their own cost of transportation and accommodation.
Travel and accommodation:
Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is the most convenient airport for international travels. The high-speed rail is also a good choice for domestic participants. Train tickets can be booked using http://www.12306.cn . You can easily reach the meeting place and hotel via metro and taxi. In general, it will takes around one hour from airport to the university campus. The route can be found here: googlemap

Note that, we will be able to cover hotel costs and economy fares (flight as well as train) for selected papers for presentation (one person per invited paper). By default, a three-night stay is used (12-15. September 2018), but feel free to adjust and indicate your check-in/check-out date according to your schedule.
Journalspecial issue:
We will select a group of high-quality papers presented at the conference for a special issue at China Economic Review (https://www.journals.elsevier.com/china-economic-review/). The online submission system will be opened from 1 October to 31 December 2018. All submissions to the special issue must not be under consideration for publication in any other journal and should follow the “Instructions for Authors” of China Economic Review. All manuscripts will be subject to a standard double-blind review process. During the submission process, select the special issue option “SI Energy Demand”.
